Hello, I'm dan brown, (no not the author of the Da Vinci Code!)
Thank you very much for taking the time to come and look around the site. Now let me properly introduce the Your History project and explain a little of the background as to how this all started and where it is hopefully going to go.
For a long time now i have enjoyed listening to other history podcasts, but i have found that no matter how good or well read the podcaster is, some subjects just don’t interest me. This is no fault of anyone, it is just one of those things. That’s where the idea first came into my head... ‘Imagine a history podcast that is based purely on fascinating events throughout history.’
After having that idea i then realised that this could cover all of history and every person in it! Every little peasant who may have been in a fight in a tavern, every soldier who might have slipped in the mud and then heard an arrow whizz above his head, then breath a sigh of relief and think to himself ‘Phew that was close!’ Of course the famous figures of history also have their own fascinating little stories as well.
That is what this podcast is going to be, a collection of short stories from all sorts of people, from all sorts of places throughout all sorts of history!
There will be a new episode to download every two weeks, although i will do my best to get episodes out more frequently than that, if you want to then you can also visit this site and on the home page i will add various articles about historical events and the studying of history itself. At some point in the future i also have plans to experiment with youtube as a means of bringing some subjects a new twist.
